I have been using a motivation-affirmation CD for a month now, and I like the results. But I know that some people have more time than money, so I put up a page on how to make your own affirmations and use them to reprogram your mind. The introduction is below. Enjoy!

Make Your Own Affirmations

The basic idea of positive affirmations is that you can "reprogram" your thoughts to make positive actions more likely. This makes sense, doesn't it? If you hear or repeat something enough, it is bound to have an effect. Any one who has repeatedly thought about something bad that might happen - or explained why it might happen - and then felt stressed out, can relate to this.

If it works with our negative thoughts and pronouncements, it seems likely that it will work with our positive ones as well. One way to test this on yourself, is to...

This Week's Brainpower Practice

Try to get in the habit of seeing the other side of arguments. Every time you catch yourself making a argument or taking a position on an issue, imagine what you would say if you had to argue the other side. This is a powerful way to get out of ruts and expand the range of your thoughts.

More New Invention Ideas

Here are a few more new invention ideas. Read about them, laugh at them if you must, modify them, use them and call them your own if you want.

Wave power electric generators. As kids, we roped, chained and tried every other means we could think of to keep our raft anchored in the bay. When the wind and waves came, though, even the chains broke. My new invention idea is to use this lifting power of the waves to run a generator. The whole unit would be anchored to the bottom of the lake, or ocean. A float would move up and down with the waves, lifting and dropping a plunger that turns a generator with each movement. Additional units could be...

Solution To The Riddle: A clock that never shows the right time is more useful. To never be accurate, it most likely is running correctly, but is set to the wrong time. Once you figured out how fast or slow it was, you could adjust for that and know the time. For a clock to show the right time just twice each day, it most likely is not runnning. Though a broken clock shows the correct time twice each day, you never know when.
